Comparative Study of Indonesian Seismic Codes Applied on Vertically Irregular RC Building in High Seismicity Region

The Aceh earthquake suffering Indonesia in 2004, and some big ground motions afterward led the earthquake-resistant building standard provisions to be updated. rise of increases lateral forces, so reevaluating existing buildings is needed, especially for Irregular buildings, which are more vulnerable than regular ones. This study investigates increase loads response high seismicity region due updated Indonesian code from SNI 1726:2002 1726:2012. Building A DI Yogyakarta with vertical irregularity on a certain floor chosen as object studied. There two types seismic simulated, spectrum time history analysis. simulated using numerical program, four motion histories selected dynamic exiting forces. analysis result shows an story force either or history. By taking building's top reference point, displacement also detected both From interstory drift ratio examinations, it found that there weak point located setback part not identified just by observing total displacement. paper compiles comparison versions code, force, points view analyzing response. Furthermore, presented this beneficial mitigating building.
